DEF JAM SONGWRITING OPPORTUNITY!!!
I never post blogs. As many may know, this is my first one. That should tell you the serious nature of this:
I was at the Hit Factory, and DJ Khaled's (President of Def Jam South) studio in Miami this weekend
and was briefed on some available opportunities for Songwriters.
I have a team of producers that I've worked with over the years and am partnered up with on several collaborations. One of them is The Monarch, a newly signed production team to The Runners (Rick Ross, Danity Kane, Day 26, Ludacris, DJ Khaled, R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, T.I., Jeezy...etc) We have a song Co-Produced with The Runners on Rick Ross' new album called "Lay Back" being released 4/21 as well as other Placements with Mario, Nina Sky, etc. coming this year.
Def Jam/Universal has just signed a new female artist and DJ Khaled is giving us the go ahead to start Co-Producing the WHOLE album. The catch is, we have to have a BIG sound...(can't sound like it was done by one guy..) Therefore, we have the beats, but need a very TALENTED and SEASONED few songwriters to provide Lyric and/or Melody.
If any songwriters are interested in being involved in this opportunity, please send ONE song that you've written that showcases your BEST songwriting NO LATER THAN TUE APRIL 7TH! We are already in Pre-Production and will choose a select few to get in on the ground floor on this project.

Quick Summary and Revision of the immediate needs:
1. In order for us to gauge you all's songwriting style, post a song that represents your songwriting at its very BEST as a REPLY to this discussion forum.
2. The songs you post are MORE THAN LIKELY not going to be used for this project. So send whatever you have that best represents you.
3. If we can agree on a few writers, we will contact you from there with the next step. If you don't hear back by Monday April 13th, you did not make the cut.

UPDATE:
Thank you to everyone that participated! Your involvement has helped out tremendously and I think we have a good chance that someone from JKSWA will get picked! I think that pretty much wraps it up for right now. We've got all we need until further notice. If I open this back up before Friday, I'll send out an Inbox blast.
Jack I wanna submit one for you too. Not sure if you've worked with The Runners yet but it'll be a good excuse to come out to Miami :)

It's so hard to choose from all your own peices of work since they are yours you will think and feel all of them are great lol.. ok so I uploaded the two hottest songs I have, where I have gotten over 10,000 plays from and alot of comments on... I know you said just one... so I will leave that up to you which link you click on,
Best of luck in your journey with this and eveyrone else who submits... I am taking the chance even if its rejection
