Where your word's become art, and your thought's become music

JACK KNIGHT SAYS.....ARE YOU HURT BY REJECTION??

FOR MY NEW FAMILY!!!!

When I first started out in the business, a seasoned pro told me, If youre not getting rejected everyday, then youre not doing your job. I didnt understand this statement until much later when I discovered all the places rejection can occur. Sometimes it is obvious, sometimes it is subtle, but it never feels good. It might make it easier to deal with if you realize that you are not alone when it comes to being rejected. Some of the more famous examples of rejection include:

-Beethoven,
whose music teacher said he was hopeless at composing;

-Albert Einstein, whose parents were worried that he was subnormal

 -The Wright Brothers, who had only five people show up to see them fly the very first airplane

-Fred Astaire, who was described at his first audition as balding, skinny,and can dance a little. Astaire later became one of the most famous dancers of the stage and screen

 -Marconi who gave us the gift of television was thought to be crazy and put into a mental asylum for thinking he could could make images travel through the air to a small tube we now call a T.V

 The list goes on and on, but the point is that all great treasures bury themselves and the process of digging for them will be met with challenges. and that goes the same for diamonds , Oil, Good Music, A Record Deal???? Distribution..Basically anything worth something is gonna require persistence and fighting against haters and periods of rejection

I learned to accept criticism and rejection early cause thats the only way I keep moving and grinding!! I read where Jay-Z himself turned down plenty of tracks and all of them became top 10 hits and some even classics! LIL'WAYNE himself turned down BEAT SUBMISSIONS FROM TIMBALAND for the Carter 3 album.......FROM TIMBALAND??? One of the greatest producers that ever done it, TIMBALAND????After a decade of making music, and crazy sounds and hits he still gets turned down and some times its not all his fees but its not what maybe the artist is looking for!! TO ME, the industry is based upon whats hot and OPINIONS, just because Puffy don't like your shit does not mean that Jermaine Dupri won't, or cause Jay-z may not like your beat but that does not mean that 50 cent won't like it either. Everyone has an different agenda when it comes to this music shit, thats why the albums be DIFFERENT MOST TIMES!! I got a rejection yesterday on 3 tracks, but I never took it to heart I just asked them what type of sound are they looking for and try my best to re-create and fit it in their style if I can!!
I hear no a bunch because of my budget. but I know I've got talent in Organic R&B sound.

Everybody has an agenda and maybe you dont fit thier scheme of things at the time or maybe it's just not what they are looking for. Good example: The "Blame it on the alchohol" track! Chris Henderson the producer had been shopping that track for years with no success! But he beleieved in himself and kept at it and placed the track with "Jamie Fox" almost 2 years later!! Rejection is not necessarily a bad thing!
