Where your word's become art, and your thought's become music
Is it possible to love someone beyond their shortcomings? Beyond our expectations? Beyond our own pain? Yes, it IS possible.
Firstly, one must be able to separate a circumstance, thought process or action from the person that created it. We are often quick to say, "I hate people who....", instead of, "I hate when people...". Think about that for a moment. Think of how powerful that truly is. Secondly, we must not be completely ruled by our pain. When you can see a person past the hurt they cause you, it often affords you an opportunity to see how they got to be the person they currently are and why they make the choices they do. This is also freeing because it allows you to be honest about where they belong in your life. Thirdly, understand that 'love' is not just an emotion. It is a choice. We choose the ways in which we will show our love. We choose to take on the responsibilities that come with loving. Lastly, learn to love the way you desire to be loved. You'd be amazed at how humbling that decision can be.
I challenge you to love.
