Where your word's become art, and your thought's become music

I think what also makes me who I am is off course the experience I had a child growing up in Africa. Though born in Botsawana, a neighbouring country to South Africa, my grandfather was South African and most of my aunties and uncles are from there. I remember the fear by the border each time we had to visit the family, the way we were divided. The light skinned including myself were allowed to be seated in the train, while those with dark skin had to get out and be checked. And some of them was family. I could go on... but im gald things have changed though there is a long way to go. Sometimes when I visit SA and see how unaware the new generation is, I feel frustrated, not that we should hang on to the past but at least be thankful to our achievements and the struggle of those before us.

The crazy thing about that Pearl, is that I couldn't even imagine myself having to be apart of a world like that... and you lived it. Thanks for sharing! I'm pretty sure that those ordeals strengthened you into the woman that you are today.

Peace & Blessings
Alicia
Thanks for sharing that...
Alicia, sometimes it feels like a different incarnation, but then at times very close to my present life. Strange to think that this only ended in the 90s.
