THE R&B GROUP OF SONGWRITERS

WELCOME TO THE R&B GROUP
CREATED BY Ruth aka RnBMistress

Photobucket

This group is an extended group from the orginal one at This Business Of Music Worldwide. I've created it on a few other ning sites, so if you belong to one already, no need to join them all, because what I post here I will post at the others, with the exception of This Business Of Music Worldwide which I'm the site owner, so my original group will have just a little bit more in detail information then the others.

I will encourage you to co-write with each other. I will include a chart for rnb music, so we can see what rnb songs are at the top of the charts, and discuss why that particular song is at the top of the charts. We know a lot of the time, it's because of the beat and melody/hook, the reason why some songs reach it to the top of the charts.

I will ask you questions such as,
Are you open to collaborations?
How do you structure your song?
Who inspired you as a songwriter?

Please do, invite other songwriters who write in this genre of music to join the group.

Thank you all for your participation.

Lalah Hathaway is looking for a great songwriter

Lalah Hathaway Is In Search Of The Next Great Songwriter Imagine having a legend sing a song that you wrote. Then imagine saidlegend recording said song on their next album. Well, for one aspiringsongwriter, that dream will make the leap into reality courtesy ofLalah Hathaway who is looking for new material for a live album thatshe'll be recording later this month. She initially sent out a callfor entries via social networking sites in February that lasted only afew days, but she has since extended the deadline to March 20th. So ifyou have a song already (or waiting to be) written that would beperfect for the honey-voiced Hathaway, get your package together andsend it her way. All the details are in the graphic above.

Hi Lady Lyric, glad that you like the group.

You know it's not so easy finding a reference singers, but I know of one who is on Linkedin.com I dont know if she is in NYC, but I'll inquire where she's located.
And yes, there are 65 members and growing...slowly, but I'm not too concern with how many members are within' the group, because my intentions for creating this group was to try and get Songwriters, Music Producers, writers, Vocalist, Artists in the genre of RnB to start a project and collaborate with each other on a song or 2 in the RnB catagory and in it's surrounding genre's such as RnB/Jazz, Neo-Soul, Soul, RnB/Pop, R&B/Hip Hop (not rap), RnB/Funk, etc.

It's 2010, I hope it will catch on soon.

Hi! What a wonderful place this is. I am currently working on so many different projects and although I can write them all myself -- I NEED FEMALE REFERENCE SINGERS!! -- That way I can continue writing as quickly as my producers need me to. If anyone knows of some female singers who are professional and able to record on their own or live in the Bronx or NYC area please contact ladylyricmusic@gmail.com . I can't believe in all the world there are only 65 members??!! We're on our grind!

Hi Billy

Let me ask you this question, why were you getting discourage?
What is said below, no pun is intended.

Here is one of the reasons why I created this group I mainly created it just for the members to find other writers, music producers to co-write and collaborate together in the RnB genre and it's surrounding genre's such as soul, funk, neo-soul, rnb/hip hop, soul/house etc. I will probably make a pitch a thon thread in the near future.

If one has demo's already made thats fine, all one has to do is to find their niche and learn how to pitch their songs to whomever artist they intended their songs for.

If you are shooting for the major artists, then it's not going to be an easy task, not by a long shot. Seeking established indie artists, or the indie artist would be a better way of getting your songs recorded.

Now I'm not trying to discourage you or anyone else from pitching their songs to the major artists, hey you never know what opportunity may present itself to you..

If you do not have the money to invest in your own music and career then the only thing I can advise you to do is to you is to seek out a way. This business is not an easy one to get into, and being an Independent writer/music publisher I've learned that no one is going to hand me anything, I had to work hard to get my songs out to to the artists.
