Alexandra Frances Kane born October 17, 1982 in Toronto Canada spent some of her young life growing up with her parents and younger brother in Orlando Florida. At age 9 she began studying music and dance and by the age of 12 she was winning competitions, festivals, and numerous adjudicators’ awards. At 13, she entered the Orchestra at First Baptist Church of Central Florida, as a saxophonist. She was also the youngest member, aside from her brother, to enter the adult orchestra. Alexandra was also a member of the youth and hand-bell choir. While attending Robinswood Middle school she was a member of the school band and choir. Maintaining all these commitments on top of private piano, saxophone, and dance lessons whilst holding above average grades at school was only capable through love and dedication from her parents. Due to her musical talents and dedication to practice, Alexandra was accepted to an “A” rated high school in an “A” district, Dr. Phillips High School for the Performing Arts situated close to and patronized by Universal Studios, Florida.
Alexandra Kane was chosen by Beth Meadows, the artistic director of Dr Philips High School, as the piano soloist and accompanist to the concert choir, accompanist and vocalist on scholarship to tour England & Wales with Paul Bassler, a composer and professor of Music at Florida States University. Alexandra won much state festival finishing all competitions with superior ratings. She also accompanied dance, drama, and orchestral performances on piano. Highlights of her young life in Florida included Disney Christmas performances, other recordings for Disney and performing at Universal Studios.
Alexandra continued her musical studies on scholarship at Stetson University, studying voice and piano. In February of 2002, she moved back to Toronto, and continued to study music at the University of Western Ontario. Alexandra graduated in October of 2006, with a Bachelors of Arts in Music. In 2009 Alexandra won the Oakville Stars Among Us award in the Performing Arts category for her entry I’m Lying that she wrote, sang and produced and for which Dalton McGuinty, the premier of Ontario, cited her.
Alexandra contributes to the artistic life of the community as a local musician volunteering at churches, hospitals and other events. Alexandra spends her time as a music teacher and music producer, singer and songwriter.
