A musical prodigy from Detroit, Joe fell in love with all types of music at an early age. With influences like Lauren Hill, Anita Baker, Sam Cooke, Kanye West, Nas and Jay Z, J decided to start crafting and perfecting his skill and take his songwriting abilities to the next level. In 2002 J receieved honorable mention from the John Lennnon Songwriting contest for his ballot “Crazy Over You”. Around this time he also linked with gold certified producer “Coe Bentom” (B.G, Ray J) and platinum certified producer “Unik” (J Blue, Pit Bull, Selena Johnson) to collaborate on numerous projects and demos for placement opportunities. In 2004 J was introduced to his first publishing contract by Pravda Entertainment for his pop song “Out of this world”. Inspired by his new relationships, Joe set out to create his own unique mixture of R&B and Hip Hop, fast becoming one of the hottest and most sought after songwriters in Detroit, Michigan.

In 2006 Joe began to mentor with Sony/Bug publisher/songwriter “Stone Stafford”, through Stone Joe was introduced to the business aspect of Songwriting and Producing. Joe quickly learned how to effectively demo, shop and place music that met industry standards. With this knowledge in hand Joe was geared up for his next opportunity which was presented to him in 2009 in the form a Songwriting/Producer contract through Go Gettas Music Publishing” for winning the “Do you have a hit contest” courtesy of Sonicbids.

Now in 2011, Joe Parks is currently working on launching his own Publishing and Management Company focusing on molding up and coming young talent and preparing them for Major recording contracts, J is also writing for various artists and currently working on major placement opportunities to finish the year strong!
