When Reality Sets In

You ever had a dream, or a passion that you've let slip from between your fingers? It's hard as hell to get a good grip on it again and when you finally do have it within your reach, it's sooo hard to hold on to. I remember when I was in the 5th grade... my teacher gave us the opportunity to write fictional stories and I remember how excited I used to get when I was given the opportunity to write and sit down and brainstorm. Even when the years rolled by, writing was always my escape and my "cure all" to solve all of my problems. I've always been better able to express my feelings on paper (and now blogging) than I have by speaking what I feel.

When I got to college, I was on the wrong path, I pursued other people's dreams and didn't look out for what it is I wanted. Then I had my daughter, and the daily time I set aside for writing became practically non-existent. And after my daughter came more responsibilities. And then five years later, I added a son..... and writing was just a mere memory of my past.

My creative juices had dried up and my muse was no longer there. My hubby asked why I didn't take the time to do what it is that made my heart smile the most. He, as an artist, didn't quite understand about writers block, or my muse for that matter.....

But one day, something changed...my inspiration came back....my muse returned to me once more and the river of creativity once again returned....


Then reality set it....

While I have much more important responsibilities, I cannot pursue this at a full-time pace like I was once able to, but I can still find a way to make some time..... And here I am..... taking just a little bit of time to write something....
